No Negligence In Tablighi Meet Investigations, Centre Tells SC


As per the reports coming in Delhi police investigation into Tablighi Jamaat gathering at centre in Nizamuddin admits a Nationwide lockdown at an advanced stage.


The Ministry of Home Affairs deny the charge that the gathering took place because of delay or negligence on the part of authority.The Ministry promised that it would file a “comprehensive status report in a sealed cover” about the probe.


Government reply on petition accusing the authorities of negligence. A bench which was laid by Chief Justice of India Sharad A Bobde after petitioner Supriya Pandit on Friday to file the rejoinder to the government affidavit.


The affidavit of 23 pages admits that the Delhi police had contacted the centres authority as early as on March 21. Also centre's Authorities were advice to take immediate action in the spread of coronavirus and also asked to send back the foreigner and others who was staying there.


The centre's authority told about the menace and hazard of the virus due to huge gathering. A meeting was also held with the station house officer but they did not inform the health department about gathering and deliberately, willfully, negligently and malignantly disobeyed the lawful direction promulgated during lockdown as stated by affidavit.
