Maharashtra Crime Branch Arrests 45 Year Old Man For Fake Social Media Influencer

Late night reports have been coming in from Mumbai Maharashtra where Maharashtra Police and crime branch has in a big haul has arrested a 45 year old man.

According to Mumbai police this 45-year-old person has been arrested in social media marketing influencers fraud case by Mumbai Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Thane, Maharashtra.

As per reports coming in the accused person operates several portals that provide fake followers, views, subscribers, likes etc to profiles on various social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube & Facebook.

This is a big achievement of Mumbai Police with respect to cyber cell police and this may lead to more arrest as the investigation continues.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
