Black Money Worth Rs 1000 Crores Recovered In Searches In Chennai And Madurai

Reports have been coming in from the Central Board Of Direst Taxes (CBDT) which has confirmed that have searched and raided many locations in Chennai and Madurai For black money.

As per reports coming up in the search that has led to the detection of unaccounted income of around Rs1000 crores.

Out of which, disclosure of additional income of Rs 337 crores has already been made by the assessee, besides actionable issues under Benami & Black Money Acts.

Income Tax Department has carried out these searches at five locations in Chennai and Madurai on November 4 in the case of a Chennai based group operating in IT Infra sector.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
