The Kollywood film industry was stirred up on Tuesday morning. Popular Tamil producer-director B Ashok Kumar committed suicide at his home on Tuesday. He wrote a two-page suicide note to his relative director Sasi Kumar before suicide.

Based on the note, director Sasikumar blamed Anabu Chejiayan, a financier, for the murder of Ashok, which forced him to suicide. In the note, Ashok Kumar has written that he had only two options - either he murdered the financier or committed suicide.

According to The Hindu's report, his production company had taken a loan from the financier, instead of which he had charged too much interest and was constantly pushing for money. Due to this, Ashok Kumar took this step.

The note also states that, for the last 10 years, we have been able to release all our films on time. The only major sin we have committed is taking a loan from Anbu Cheziyan. I am regretting this, the man also started charging interest on the loan taken for the last seven years, and he was harassing and threatening him by treating him badly for the last six months. He also threatened to kidnap women and elders in my house with the help of goons. The financier had also cited his political power to intimidate him.

According to the report, the body has been sent to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem and a case has been registered against the financier for forcing her to commit suicide. If it is proved that the financier is responsible for Ashok's suicide then a case will also be registered against him under other sections.

When exposed to this shocking incident, film analyst Sridhar Pillai said, Ashok's tragic death reflects the plight of Tamil film producers who are caught in the clutches of film financiers and paying higher interest rates. Until these producers are provided with institutional finance (bank), one cannot escape the clutches of these .
