Maruti Suzuki India will raise prices from next month

 


Due to an increase in various input costs, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will raise prices for their various car models in April, India's largest carmaker by volume announced today. They raised prices for some models in January, cited an increase in production costs.


"Increases in various production prices had a negative effect on the cost of the company's vehicles over the last year. As a result, in April 2021, the company will be forced to pass on some of the increased costs to consumers through a price increase. The price increase will be different for each model," Maruti Suzuki said.


Maruti Suzuki India stated that, In February, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) sold 1,44,761 units, up 8.27% from the same month the previous year. Hyundai Motor India, on the other hand, posted a 28.97% rise in dispatches last month, totaling 51,600 units.

According to SIAM, the auto industry body had said earlier that passenger vehicle sales in India in February increased 18% to 2,81,380 units as compared with the same month last year.
