New Variant Lambda Covid Virus Found In Canada Increasing Rapidly

Reports are coming from Canada that chief public officer of Canada says there are cases of the latest covid-19 variant in their country but it is early to know how it spread and what impact it could have?

Reports are also coming that on Thursday 11 cases of Lambda variant was first identified in Peru last year have been reported to health Canada. 

National Institute of Public Health Quebec said it has confirmed 27 cases already all in march and April. 

Reports are also coming that the Public Health Agency of Canada is continuously monitoring Lambda to see how it spreads and how it responds to vaccines. 

Early studies suggest that Lambda may be resistant to antibodies produced by the mRNA vaccines from Pfizee-BioNTech and Moderna, but concluded it is not by enough to cause a significant loss of protection against infection.
