Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla Informs Successful Tour Of PM Modi Of Washington DC

Latest reports having coming in from the Ministry of External Affairs of India which has stated that the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President of USA Kamala Harris have been a milestone for the relations of both the countries.

According to reports coming in foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has said that in discussions, US Vice Pres Kamala Harris mentioned that US Congress was highly appreciative and kept noting that India and US represented the 2 largest democracies. 

There was great deal of appreciation of how both our democracies functioned according to Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

On terrorism, US VP Kamala Harris suo moto referred to Pakistan's role in that regard. She said that there were terror groups working there. She asked Pakistan to take action so that these groups don't impact US security and of India as per Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

US Vice President Kamala Harris agreed with PM Modi on cross-border terrorism and India had been a victim of terrorism for several decades now. 

She also agreed on the need to closely monitor Pakistan's support for such terror groups.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla in Washington DC has informed media through ANI that PM Narendra Modi and US Vice President Kamala Harris discussed future areas of collaboration including space cooperation, information technology, emerging and critical technologies, cooperation in the healthcare sectors.

PM Narendra Modi and US Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged people-to-people ties between our 2 countries and appreciated mutually beneficial education linkages, flow of knowledge, innovation, talent between our 2 countries and need to nurture them.

PM Narendra Modi specifically thanks PM Yoshihide Suga for successfully hosting Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in midst of global pandemic. 

Two PMs exchanged views on recent developments including Afghanistan.

PM Narendra Modi and PM Suga reaffirmed their commitment towards a free and open inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

They agreed to enhance bilateral security and defence cooperation including the areas of defence equipment and technologies.

PM Modi and PM Suga also reaffirmed their commitment to advance their effort to facilitate the smooth and timely implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed train project.
