Supreme Court Hears Petition Of A Lawyer For Safe Evacuation Of Stranded Indians In Ukraine

In a latest development a lawyer has approached Supreme Court seeking directions for Government of India for the evacuation of Indian students stranded in Ukraine.

This petition of the lawyer has been heard by a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ramana who has stated that the Government of India is doing its work to evacuate Indians.

The Chief Justice of India NV Ramana has further added that we sympathise with the students, we are feeling very bad. But can we direct Russia's President Putin to stop the war?

However the Court has sought Attorney General KK Venugopal's assistance.

Supreme Court asks Attorney General KK Venugopal to help Indian medical students who approached the top court for evacuation from Ukraine after the lawyer says students are stuck at border with Romania and are stopped from crossing over.

Attorney General KK Venugopal tells Supreme Court that the Centre has sent ministers to ensure the safe evacuation of Indians who have crossed the Ukrainian border and so far Ukraine is considered everyone is being allowed to cross into neighbouring countries.
