Sidhu Moose Wala Case: Criminal In Punjab Now, Police Looking To Connect Dots.

Lawmaker Lawrence Bishnoi, the main suspect in the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, will remain in custody in Punjab police for seven days, a local court heard today. Punjab police will now look to connect the dots in a high-profile murder case that has rocked the country.
The robber was arraigned in Mansa Magistrate's Court this morning after Punjab police found his cell and a prisoner of transport. Punjab police told a Delhi court yesterday that he was a key figure in the plot to assassinate Moose Wala last month.

Punjab Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu assured the court that the state would take "full responsibility" for the security of the robber.

"There will be about 50 Punjab police officers, two vehicles loaded with ammunition; 12 vehicles will run on the road that will clear the route. All routes will be videotaped," a Punjab state attorney told a magistrate in the Patiala House Court in Delhi. .

Mr Sidhu said the High Court orders as passed in such cases would be followed.

Bishnoi was arraigned in the Patiala House Court of Delhi after his arrest with Delhi police in the Arms Law case. He is being held in Tihar prison and faces multiple charges.

Bishnoi's lawyer, Vishal Chopra, opposed the Punjab police's request, saying there were fears he could be "eliminated" if the arrests were allowed. He said an interrogation could be conducted. "We are just protesting his physical arrest to the Punjab police. They can arrest him, if necessary, but only in Delhi," the lawyer said.

Moose Wala was shot dead in Jawahar Ke village in Mansa district in Punjab on May 29.

Punjab police on Tuesday sent a statement that the arrested suspect had said Lawrence Bishnoi had killed him. The motive, according to Punjab police, was "to avenge the killing of Vikramjeet Singh, also known as Vicky Middukhera, in the alleged involvement of Shagundeep Singh, the manager of Shubdeep Singh (Sidhu Moose Wala), who is on the run".

"Delhi police also questioned Bishnoi, saying he was the main culprit," Punjab police said.
