Jharkhand Health Minister Donates Blood to a Patient During a Hospital Visit

Jharkhand's Minister of Health and Disaster Management, Banana Gupta, on Saturday donated blood to a needy patient being treated at the state-run MGM hospital in Jamshedpur, where he was attending a formal program.
The woman, after learning that the minister had arrived at the hospital, arrived at the scene and asked him to arrange for her 49-year-old husband who was seeking blood immediately.

When he said he had failed to find someone to donate blood, Mr Gupta donated blood.

The woman, a resident of Kalikapur under the Potka district building, has blessed the minister.

Later, she told reporters: "I am the first person. I am doing my job to save the life of my sister's husband."

In March, Mr Gupta was on his way from Jamshedpur to Ranchi to attend a meeting when he saw three young people injured in a road accident in Dulmi in the Seraikela-Kharswan district.

The minister got out of his car, called an ambulance and waited until the victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

On Saturday, Mr Gupta opened a center at MGM Hospital where X-rays, ultrasound and CT scans could be done at a lower cost. It will be used in PPP mode.
