Nupur Sharma's statement was recorded on June 18, Delhi police said


Delhi police on Friday said suspended BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma had already joined the investigation and recorded his statement on June 18 on charges of damaging religious sentiments.
The Delhi police statement came hours after the Supreme Court accused him of heresy and charged him with any public incidents that took place across the country.

"After the FIR was registered against Nupur Sharma, Delhi Police sent a notice to Nupur Sharma to join the Section 41A CrPC investigation. He has already joined the investigation and Delhi Police recorded Nupur Sharma's statement on June 18, 2022," police said. .

Delhi police on June 8 registered a case against a number of individuals including Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal under various conditions for spreading hateful messages, inciting factions and creating a situation that threatens the maintenance of public peace.

The Supreme Court on Friday severely suspended suspended BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma and said his explosion had led to a tragic incident in Udaipur, in which a tailor was killed.

The Supreme Court also accused the suspended BJP leader of saying he and his "loose tongue" had set the whole country on fire and he was the one responsible for what happened in the country and said he "should apologize to the whole country."

Justice Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala bench criticized Nupur Sharma for his statement during a TV news debate on the Udaipur incident, in which two men killed a tailor, saying, "his explosion caused a horrific incident."

However, the Supreme Court also rejected Nupur Sharma's application to transfer to Delhi of all MONEY registered against him nationwide for his controversial remarks about the Prophet Muhammad and allowed him to withdraw his application to the high court and seek alternative treatment.

Refusing Nupur Sharma's request to transfer all FIRs to Delhi for investigation, the bench told his lawyer Maninder Singh, "No, Mr Singh.

Attorney Maninder Singh from Nupur Sharma withdrew the application.

The bench also took a negative view of the television news channel by hosting a discussion on the Gyanvapi affair which is a covert affair in which Nupur Sharma, who was one of the guests, made a confusing speech.
