Viral video: Sea lions chase away beachgoers in San Diego

Two sea lions chased off a group of people on a beach in the La Jolla area of San Diego, according to a report by NBC San Diego. A video of the incident is going viral on social media platforms, showing beachgoers running away from the approaching animals.
Lifeguards were on standby at the beach and ensured no one was injured. They also helped the sea lions to leave the beach safely.

The video was recorded and uploaded to TikTok by Charlianne Yeyna, who was present in the area when the incident occurred. She told NBC that the sea lions were sleeping, but one of the women on the beach went "too close" to click the photo. "Then they woke up and started chasing people," Ms Yeyna said. I started recording because it was fun to watch, to see all these tourists being carried away by these giant sea lions,” she continued.

Sea lions are amazing creatures and their videos are a huge hit on the internet. A few days ago, a video of a sea lion smiling brightly in front of a pool caused a stir on Twitter.

The video was shared by Buitengebiden on Twitter and received over 2.1 million views and over 79,000 likes. The video was retweeted by more than 7,000 users.

External ear flaps, long front fins, ability to move on all fours are characteristic features of sea lions. They also have short, dense fur and a large chest and belly.

Sea lions are members of the Otariidae family, which also includes seals. In each of the five genera (Japanese sea lion), there are six extant species and one extinct species.
