Bus catches fire in Maharshtra's Nashik: 11 burnt alive, 38 injured; bus was going from Yavatmal to Mumbai

 


Nashik: A horrific accident happened in Nashik, Maharashtra on Saturday morning. A passenger bus caught fire after it collided with an Eicher truck. In 20 minutes, the bus was burnt to ashes.

11 people in the bus were burnt alive in the accident. Besides, 38 passengers have been injured. The bus was going from Yavatmal to Mumbai

The accident happened at 4:30 am. Most of the passengers saved their lives by jumping off the bus. Videos showed a huge ball of fire engulfing the bus as the fire personnel tried to douse the flames.

45 to 50 people were aboard: The accident happened near Nandurnaka on the Nashik-Aurangabad route. The bus belonged to Chintamani Travels. There were 45-50 people in it. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Tambe has confirmed the accident. PM Modi has expressed grief over this incident.

Saved life by jumping from the window: Anita Sukdev Choudhary, a resident of Loni in Washim district, said, “While I was sleeping, the bus and the truck collided. I fell down from the seat. After this, flames started emanating from the front of the bus. I saved my life by jumping out of the window. The fire brigade reached here after 20 minutes."

Injured to get free treatment: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured will be given free treatment. Shinde said – 3 people have been admitted to the private hospital. The accident will be taken seriously and it will be investigated
