Rajasthan: 'Palace on Wheels' resumes service after over 2 years

Gandhinagar (Rajasthan): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that the resumption of the popular 'Palace on Wheels' luxury train service indicates that tourism sector in the state is going to emerge stronger. The luxury tourist train had suspended operations in the wake of Covid pandemic over two years back.

Gehlot flagged off the train at Gandhinagar Railway Station on Saturday. He wished the passengers a happy journey and said it was a matter of pride for the government to resume the service.

Modern furnishings and additional amenities have been included in the train under the joint aegis of the Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. The seven-day journey covers Rajasthan's Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer and Bharatpur, besides Delhi and Agra.
