T-20 World Cup 2022: Team India refused to practice ahead of their match against Netherlands

Melbourne:
Team India refused to practice in Sydney during the T-20 World Cup because of the long distance of the practice ground from the hotel where players are staying. It is also reported that Indian players were given snacks that they didn’t like. According to sources, the players are unhappy with this. However, there is no official statement from BCCI regarding this yet.

On Wednesday morning, the T-20 World Cup management had asked Team India to practice in Black Town. The distance of this ground from the hotel is 42 km. In such a situation, the Indian players refused to go.

The team boycotted lunch: Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, after their optional training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Team India boycotted the lunch. This decision was taken because the breakfast was cold and not good. The menu included fruits, 'make your own sandwich', which many players did not like. The complaint was made to the concerned official at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Food was not up to the standards: An Indian team member said the food was not up to the standards. We can't eat sandwiches after a practice session. Some players had fruits on the field, while others opted to eat at the hotel. After this controversy, Team India has decided to rest before their match against Netherlands.

Match against Netherlands on Thursday: The team has to play the second match against the Netherlands at Sydney ground on Thursday from 12:30 pm. Before that the team went for pre match practice session.
