There were four members in the selection committee: There were four members in the selection committee and its head i.e. chief selector Chetan Sharma. Team India's performance in Chetan's era was very poor. In the 2021 T-20 World Cup, Team India could not even reach the knock out stage.
Term of Senior Selection Committee is four years: Apart from Chetan, Harvinder Singh, Sunil Joshi and Devashish Mohanty were in this selection committee. Some of these became selectors in 2020 and some in 2021. Usually the term of the Senior Selection Committee is four years. It is being said that the decision to dismiss the selection committee was taken in the board's AGM on Friday.
Board has sought applications: Now the board has sought applications for the new selection committee. The last date for this is 28 November.
Dhoni can get an important role: The BCCI is planning to replace the T20 team that returned to the country without a World Cup title. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who won the 2007 title, also has a role in the board's plan. The board can add Dhoni to the team again to make the T20 team aggressive.
BCCI wants to make a team that plays fearless cricket like England. In this, it is considering taking the help of Dhoni's expert skills and will take a decision soon.
T20 and ODI teams can become separate teams: The BCCI is considering having separate limited overs and Test teams on the lines of England. Not only this, different coaching staff can also be appointed for these teams. A decision on a different coach can be taken this month.

ODI World Cup next year and T-20 WC in 2024: ODI World Cup in 2023 is to be played in India only. After this, the T20 World Cup is to be held in America and West Indies in 2024. In such a situation, there is about 1 year left for ODI and 2 years for T20 World Cup. The team management wants a fresh team to be prepared for both these World Cups.
