Mine Collapses In Jharkhand, 30 People Feared Trapped


Dhanbad: A mine caved in at Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The accident occurred during illegal mining. About 25 to 30 people are feared to be buried. 

It is reported that the laborers who are buried are not local. They were hired from Asansol in West Bengal by luring them with higher payments. However, the number of people buried has not been confirmed.

The mishap occurred in Jharkhand's Dhanbad, next to Kapasara Outsourcing Colliery. A mine was set up in a specific area. 25 to 30 laborers who were working there were trapped in the debris when a landslide occurred Friday morning. 

The laborers living in places like Jamdara and Purulia were used for the above illegal excavation. The rescue teams who arrived there are working to rescue the people trapped in the rubble. According to reports, a landslide has occurred in a radius of about 100 meters.
