Earthquake Tremors felt In Delhi-NCR, Second Time In Four Days


New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR at 7.57 pm on Saturday. Its intensity was 5.4 on the Richter scale. These were felt for about 5 seconds. Its center was Nepal. Earlier on Tuesday also the tremors of earthquake were felt here. Its center was also in Nepal.

IMD said a 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal on Saturday evening with tremors being felt across Delhi-NCR and other parts of north India.
Many users took to Twitter, saying they felt tremors around 7:57pm. "The origin of the earthquake was 10 km deep and 3 km from Silanga town of Nepal. The affected countries are India, China and Nepal," Pithoragarh Disaster Management Officer BS Mahar said.
Besides, the ground was shaken in Uttarakhand on Saturday evening at 4:25 pm. Its magnitude was 3.4 on the Richter scale. People came out of their homes and offices as soon as the tremors started.
Only four days back, a 6.3-magnitude earthquake occurred in the neighboring country of Nepal late on Tuesday night. Its tremors were felt in 5 states of North India including Delhi, UP. People came out of the houses in panic.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake in Nepal occurred at 1.57 am on 9 November. Its center was 10 km below the ground in Manipur, Nepal itself. Here in Doti district, 6 people lost their lives due to house collapse.
