Maharashtra Chandrapur Railway Foot Overbridge Slab Broke; Passengers Fell On Track

 

Chandrapur: In Maharashtra, a slab of a railway foot overbridge has collapsed at Ballarshah railway station in Chandrapur district. The height of the bridge was 60 feet and people were passing through it at the time of the accident. As soon as part of the bridge broke, people fell on the railway tracks from a height of 60 feet. 20 people are said to be injured in the accident. The condition of eight of them is serious. Relief-rescue is going on and the injured have been taken to the hospital.
After the accident, there was panic at Ballarshah railway station. People ran to save the fallen passengers. According to preliminary information, several passengers were going from platform number one to platform number four to board the Kazipet-Pune Express at Ballarshah station when the incident took place. Suddenly, a portion of the slab in the middle of the bridge collapsed, causing passengers passing through it to fall on the tracks.
