Shahrukh Khan Stopped By Customs At Mumbai Airport, Had To Pay Custom Duty For Expensive Watches

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan was stopped by the customs at Mumbai airport. Sources in the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) stationed at the airport said that Shahrukh was coming from Sharjah on Friday night. He had covers of expensive watches, which cost Rs 18 lakh. Shahrukh had to pay custom duty of Rs 6.83 lakh for these watches.
According to the information, Shahrukh Khan had reached Mumbai by private chartered plane. It was here at the T-3 terminal that Customs stopped him at around 1 am late on Friday night. During investigation, Babun & Zurbk watches, 6 boxes of Rolex watches, Spirit brand watches, and Apple series watches were found in the bag. Along with this, empty boxes of watches were also found.
Shahrukh left, bodyguard paid duty: Shahrukh and his manager Pooja Dadlani were allowed to leave after an hour-long process at the airport, but Shahrukh's bodyguard Ravi and the rest of his team were held back. According to the information, Shahrukh's bodyguard Ravi paid the custom of Rs 6 lakh 87 thousand. The process could be completed by 8 AM. Only after this the customs officials released Ravi. 

Khan had gone to Dubai for book launching: According to media reports, Shahrukh Khan along with his team went to Dubai in a private chartered plane to attend a book launch event. By this plane, he returned to Mumbai at 12:30 late on Friday night. Shahrukh Khan and his team were stopped and checked by the Customs while crossing the Red Channel at the airport.
King Khan also received the Global Icon Award: Shahrukh reached UAE's Expo Center on 11 November. There he was honored with the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award for participating in the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022.
