When Big-B Saved Tabassum’s Life

Senior actress Tabassum passed away on Friday evening due to cardiac arrest. Tabassum worked in Bollywood for a long time.

Tabassum is one of those actresses who worked as a character actress with many actors like actors Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Devanand, Shashi Kapoor.

Tabassum was one of those actresses who started working from childhood. Her confidence, her ability to talk, his style were imitable.

She was in the industry since childhood and it is often seen that the child artist who looks very cute in childhood, when she grows up, the audience does not accept her as an actress. Something similar happened with Tabassum as well.

Eminent film critic and senior journalist Ramachandran Srinivasan remembers Tabassum saying, “She became the favorite host of the people, the audience liked her style of speaking very much. The audience used to enjoy a lot while listening to her. The way she used to ask questions to the artistes was very endearing to all, the artistes also used to open all their secrets in front of her. Tabassum was such a personality."

Recalling an incident related to Tabassum, Ramachandran Srinivasan says, "Every big artist wanted to participate in her show 'Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan'. People used to watch this show because the artists were able to say all those things here which they could not say anywhere else. That's why there used to be long queues for her shows."

Amitabh saved her life

He says further, "At that time, Tabassum had a great desire to interview Amitabh Bachchan. She tried a lot but Amitabh Bachchan's interview could not be done at that time. But during a show, Tabassum herself mentioned that there was a stampede during an event. In that event, she had come to do the show on a wheelchair.

Describing this incident further, Tabassum says that due to the sudden stampede, she was very scared and could not get up from the wheelchair. She kept shouting that someone should save her. She could have lost her life that day, but the guest actor Amitabh Bachchan was present there. Like a film hero, the way he used to make entry in films, in real life also he saved Tabassum’s life in the same way.
