FIFA World Cup: Violence In Kerala, Supporters Of France, Kerala Clash, Teen Dies During Celebrations

Thiruvananthapuram: Argentina lifted the trophy after defeating defending champions France in the final of the FIFA World Cup. This victory was celebrated all over the world. People in India also enjoyed this match.

After the match, the fans of Argentina and Messi also celebrated the victory. There was a lot of celebration for Argentina's victory, especially in Kerala. However, violent incidents have also come to the fore during this period. 

Soon after the Argentina’s victory, a teenager Akshay, 17, felt uneasy while participating in the victory celebrations at the Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium in Kollam district.

He was rushed to a local hospital but could not be saved. The cause of death will likely be determined once the results of the autopsy are released.

Supporterts clash in Kannur

Supporters of France and Argentina clashed in Kerala's Kannur. Three people were injured in this. Police said that the condition of one of them is critical. According to the police, the incident took place near Palliyamoola.

The Argentina’s fans taunted the French fans, which then resulted in violence. Six people were detained and soon their arrest will also be registered. Apart from this, some incidents of violence were also reported in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Police officers attacked in Thiruvananthapuram

Two police officers were attacked while handling people celebrating after Argentina's victory. Police said that a civil police officer was assaulted and dragged on the road in Kochi. The incident took place when he was trying to disperse a crowd that was obstructing traffic. 

In Pozhiyur near Thiruvananthapuram, a sub-inspector was attacked during the screening of final. The constable was attacked while removing two youths who created ruckus at the venue.
