Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 First Phase: 59 Percent Voting Estimated, 10 Percent Less Than Last Time


Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: Voting for the first phase of the Gujarat assembly elections was completed at 5 pm on Thursday. In this way, the fate of 788 candidates who contested for 89 seats in 19 districts has been sealed in EVMs. In the first phase, more than 59 percent people voted. However, the final figures are yet to come as the voting of voters inside the polling campus is going on.

14 percent less voting in Saurashtra than in South Gujarat: In Saurashtra-Kutch, only 42 per cent polling took place. At the same time, 56 percent voting has been recorded in South Gujarat. In this way, 14 percent less voting has been done in Saurashtra than in South Gujarat. 

53.75% voters exercised franchise in Morbi. In the rest of the districts, less than 50% voting has been done so far. Thus the low voter turnout in the Patidar constituency has left the candidates in a quandary.

AAP's CM candidate who came to vote in Dwarka's Khambhalia had forgotten his I-card at home. Due to this he had to wait for 45 minutes. 

At the same time, the wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja is the BJP candidate from Jamnagar-North. But, her name comes in Rajkot in Voter List. So she voted in Rajkot along with Ravindra Jadeja.

The seats that will be under special focus today are Jamnagar, Morbi, Kutch, Rajkot, Porbandar and Junagadh.

Congress and BJP workers clashed at Vasanda in Navsari district. Vasanda's BJP candidate Piyush Patel wasinjured. Vasanda is a stronghold of the Congress. Anant Patel is in the fray from Congress.

BJP candidate from Jamnagar North seat Rivaba Jadeja and cricketer Ravindra Jadeja voted in Rajkot.

BJP state president CR Patil cast his vote in Surat. After this he left for the election campaign in Gandhinagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday appealed voters to vote in large numbers.

People are casting their votes for the first time in Jambur village, which is known as Mini Africa of Gujarat. A special tribal booth has been made here for them.
