Gujarat Elections 2022: PM Modi Casts Vote, Greets EC, People of Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Voting has started for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022. Polling will be held on 93 seats in 14 districts of north and central Gujarat from 8 am to 5 pm. In the second phase, about 2.5 crore voters will decide the fate of 833 candidates.

PM waited for his turn at the booth

PM Narendra Modi casts his vote at a polling booth in Ranip area of Ahmedabad. When the PM reached Ranip to vote, he was welcomed with drums. At the same time, a woman was standing near the ballot box in the polling booth, so she also waited for her turn. After voting, the PM came out and showed the ink mark. During this, slogans of Modi-Modi started echoing all around.

PM congratulated EC and the people of Gujarat

Talking to the media after voting, the PM said – I heartily congratulate the citizens of the country, the voters of Gujarat, Himachal and Delhi. I also congratulate the Election Commission. It has brilliantly developed an electoral tradition that has enhanced the prestige of India's democracy throughout the world. The best example of this was seen in this election. Along with this, while praising the people of Gujarat, he said that the people of Gujarat have the nature to accept the truth. Due to this nature, they are actively participating in this festival of democracy.

The BJP is seeking a seventh straight term in Gujarat where the new poll entrant Aam Aadmi Party has added a third dimension to the traditional bipolar contest between the saffron party and the Congress.

The counting of votes for the total 182 Assembly seats will be taken up on December 8. The 833 candidates in the fray for the second phase of polls include 285 independents.
