Madhya Pradesh: How Indore Is Gearing Up To Host Pravasi Bhartiya Sammelan & Global Investors Summit

 

Pravasi Bhartiya Sammelan: The month of January is very important for Indore and Madhya Pradesh. While the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is being held from 8 to 10 January, the Global Investors Summit (GIS) will be held on 11 and 12 January in Indore. For both these events, the work of beautifying various places of the state along with Indore is going on. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described these programs as important opportunities for branding of Madhya Pradesh.

Lighting will be done

During the Pravasi Bhartiya Sammelan and the Global Investors Meet, efforts are being made to light up the city's squares, bridges, buildings and markets at night with glittering lights like a festival. Under this, special electric lighting will be done from the airport to Bapat Square and Brilliant Convention Center. Apart from the city's historical heritage Rajwada and Krishnapura chhatris, Gandhi Hall will also glitter. Besides, many industries will put up attractive lights on their factories on the Super Corridor. Apart from Khajrana temple, special illumination will also be done in major temples of the city.

First occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan in state

This is the first occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan in the state. This is also an important opportunity to present the merits of Madhya Pradesh to the guests coming from different countries. GIS is a medium to bring new investment in the state.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that all concerned departments and ministers should make efforts to bring investment in various sectors.
The Central Government has designed Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to appreciate the contribution of overseas Indians in the development of India. This day is celebrated on 9th January.
The conference is jointly organized by the host state with the Union Ministry of External Affairs. This time Madhya Pradesh has got the privilege of becoming a partner state. So far 16 Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelans have been held.

Modi will come to Indore on Jan 9, Draupadi Murmu on Jan 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to Indore on January 9, the second day of the conference. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the digital exhibition on this day. On the third day, on January 10, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will distribute Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards. The theme of the conference has been set as “Migrants: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal”. Similarly, the theme of the exhibition has been set as “Amrit Mahotsav of Independence – Contribution of Migrants in the Indian Freedom Struggle”.
The chief guest of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be the President of Guyana, Mohammed Irfaan Ali.

Guests will experience taste of famous dishes of different places

About 2500 delegates will come for the Global Investors Summit. A decision has also been taken to make the guests experience the taste of famous dishes of different places of the state. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and prominent industrialists will address on the first day of the summit. The film will be screened on the theme “Advantage Madhya Pradesh”.

Prominent industrialists, various ambassadors will attend

Approvals for the visit of prominent industrialists, various ambassadors and consul generals etc. from different countries are being received daily. Representatives from Canada, Japan, Australia, France, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Israel, Singapore, Fiji, Korea, Zambia, Cambodia, Tanzania and Finland are reaching Indore to attend the summit.
