Maharashtra: No Unanimity Between Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis About Border Row With Karnataka

Mumbai: The clash between Maharashtra and Karnataka over the border dispute was not even over yet that now reports of a split in the government over the issue have started coming to the fore. Shinde and Fadnavis are not unanimous regarding the proposal: It is being said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are not unanimous regarding the proposal. Both the leaders have different views on the proposal. There is speculation that a clash between the two top leaders of the government could lead to a crisis for the coalition government.

Minister belonging to Shiv Sena Shinde group had said he would bring a proposal: Shambhuraj Desai, leader of Shinde's Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena and a minister in the Maharashtra government, had said last week that his party would bring a resolution in the assembly on Monday regarding the border dispute with Karnataka.

But there was no talk of any such proposal from BJP: However, there was no talk of any such proposal from the BJP leadership in the state. It is being said that the BJP does not want to instigate the issue against the government headed by it in Karnataka. Especially at a time when elections are also going to be held in Karnataka next year.

According to reports, despite the announcement of Shinde's minister, there is no talk of bringing any proposal on Monday from the government's side regarding the Karnataka border dispute.

According to Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena leaders, no notification has been issued regarding this proposal in the assembly.

BJP leaders not in favor of opposing resolution issued by Karnataka on border: Actually, BJP leaders are not in favor of opposing the resolution issued by Karnataka on the border dispute. They believe that by doing so, the party will face problems in the assembly elections to be held in Karnataka next year.

However, the discussion on the proposal is still going on and it can be brought in the assembly at the end of the winter session.

Pro-Shinde leaders say that the Chief Minister is in favor of bringing this proposal as the opposition in Maharashtra led by Uddhav Thackeray is attacking him.

Opposition leaders have accused Shinde of being weak: Several opposition leaders have accused Shinde of being too weak on the border dispute in comparison to the Karnataka chief minister. Not only this, the opposition has also tried to compare the powers of Shinde and Fadnavis in the government on several occasions.
