Pakistan Army Kills All 33 Ultras Of Tehreek-e-Taliban

Bannu (Pakistan): Pakistan Army has killed 33 terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) who captured Counter Terrorism Center (CTD) in Bannu district of Pakistan. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif gave this information to the Parliament. Two commandos have also been killed in the operation.

TTP terrorists were keeping four soldiers hostage

For about three days, TTP terrorists were keeping four soldiers including a Major hostage. Pakistan had sent a team of 16 clerics to Afghanistan for talks to resolve the issue. Their effort was to make the Afghan Taliban ready for the surrender of TTP terrorists. This attempt proved unsuccessful.
Some media reports claimed that TTP terrorists were demanding a helicopter to go to Afghanistan. After this the Pakistani army carried out a military operation.

The Defence Minister said that a unit of the army’s Special Service Group (SSG) carried out the operation, in which 10-15 of its commandos were injured while two were martyred.

“This operation was initiated on December 20 at 12:30pm by the Special Service Group and all terrorists were killed,” Asif said, adding that the entire CTD compound was cleared by 2:30pm.
Giving full credit for this operation to the army, Defence Minister Asif said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has completely lost in stopping terrorism.

Terrorists wanted to go to Afghanistan

Security forces surrounded the entire cantonment from all sides. The army and the local administration were trying to free the hostages through negotiations. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's spokesperson Muhammad Ali Saif had said- The terrorists had put a condition in front of the government, they want the government to let them go safely to Afghanistan.

The Defence Minister criticised PTI Chairman Imran Khan and called the incident a “total collapse” of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

“The unfortunate aspect of this is that terrorism is again making strides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan,” he said. Terrorism incidents have taken places in other provinces as well but there is clear evidence that terrorists from across the border or locally are rising again in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
