Pathan Controversy: Protests Against Film, Song Besharam Rang In Several States; FIR Against Shahrukh-Deepika In Bihar

New Delhi: Protests have started in several states regarding Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's film Pathan and the song Besharam Rang. Demonstrations are being held in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. In Bihar's Muzaffarpur, five people including Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have been booked for hurting religious sentiments and spreading obscenity.

Shiv Sainiks in Chhattisgarh demand removal of Besharam Rang song

Shiv Sainiks in Chhattisgarh have demanded removal of Besharam Rang song from the film. They said that if this is not done, the film will not be allowed to be released in Chhattisgarh. 

Hindu Mahasabha in UP said – this is insult to Sanatan culture

The Hindu Mahasabha is opposing the film in Mathura, UP.  Members associated with the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha have announced their opposition to the film. Hindu Mahasabha says that they will demand the court to ban this film.

Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha and other Hindu outfits burned the effigy of Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in Agra, after which the secretary of Hindu Mahasabha, Sanjay Jaat, said the movie hurts Hindu sentiments and it will not be allowed to be played in any theatre in Agra. If a theatre defies this ban, it will be burned down, he said.

Case registered in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

A case has been registered in Bihar's Muzaffarpur court regarding Pathan. Muzaffarpur's advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate against 5 people including filmmaker Aditya Chopra, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone for hurting religious sentiments and spreading obscenity. There will be a hearing on January 3 in this case.

Theater owners warned in Rajasthan, Gujarat

Hindu organizations in Alwar, Rajasthan continued to protest against the film Pathan for the second day. The activists of the organization have issued a warning that if anyone shows Pathan movie, the result will not be right.

There has been a demand to ban Pathan in Gujarat as well. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have said that theater owners will be responsible for any untoward incident if the film is released in the state.

BJP MLA in Maharashtra protested

Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam has said that if any film hurts Hindu sentiments, it will not be tolerated at any cost.
