Mumbai: In the suicide case of TV actress Tunisha Sharma, Waliv police have arrested Tunisha's Alibabab co-star Sheezan Khan. Sheezan has been booked for abetting Tunisha's suicide.
The police have registered a case under section 306 of the IPC on the basis of a complaint by Tunisha's family. Sheezan will be produced in the court tomorrow.
Significantly, Tunisha Sharma committed suicide by hanging herself on the shooting set on Saturday, after which Tunisha's mother made serious allegations against actor Sheezan. She had said that Tunisha committed suicide as she was being harassed by Sheezan.
The police had also interrogated all the people present on the set. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. Police say that they are probing the case from both murder and suicide angles.
Tunisha’s mother blamed Sheezan
According to the DCP Chandrakant Jadhav, Tunisha’s mother blamed Ali Baba co-star Sheezan Khan in her statement and said that he should be charged with abetment of suicide. It is said that Sheezan and Tunisha were in a relationship.
When asked about whether reports of her being pregnant are true, the DCP said that the investigation and post-mortem are still underway.
