America Mass Shootings: 11 Die In Three Incidents


Washington: Three firing incidents have been reported in America within 12 hours. In these incidents, 11 people including 2 students have died. Two days ago, 11 people died during a mass shooting in Los Angeles.

7 killed in North California

First firing occurred in California in which 7 people were killed. Gunman fired in Northern California on Monday. 7 people died in this attack, while 3 are serious. The sheriff said the suspected shooter, 67-year-old Zhao Chunli, was taken into custody following the shooting in Half Moon Bay. It is not yet clear what led to the attack.

2 students killed in Iowa, 3 suspects held

Gunman opened fire at a school for special needs children in Iowa in which 2 students died and 3 are injured and 2 of them are in critical condition. The firing took place when a program was going on in the school. Police said three suspects were arrested from a car about 20 minutes after the shooting and one accused absconded.

Police said that the attack was premeditated. This is a target killing. However, the motive behind the shooting is unclear. The school's website stated that 80% of the students studying there are from minority communities.

Two die in Chicago

The third incident of firing took place late at night in an apartment in Chicago. In this, 2 people lost their lives while 3 people were seriously injured. Police said that many people were involved in carrying out the incident. However, no one has been arrested so far. 

Los Angeles mass shooter had killed himself

The suspected gunman who allegedly shot 20 people, 10 fatally, at a dance studio near a Lunar New Year celebration in the Los Angeles suburb of Monterey Park has been identified and linked to a second incident the same night, authorities said.

Huu Can Tran, 72, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a white cargo van in Torrance that law enforcement officers had surrounded and forced their way into about 50 km from where the massacre occurred, authorities said.

Authorities said they found a handgun and other evidence inside the van. An investigation is ongoing, and authorities said they're still working to determine the motive.


Tran is also the suspect in an incident that took place at a dance studio late Saturday in the nearby city of Alhambra, authorities said.
