Chhatarpur (MP): Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, popularly known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, came in limelight recently when a Nagpur based anti-superstition organisation challenged his so-called miraculous powers. Shastri is based in Chhatarpur region of Bundelkhand in Madhya Pradesh.
It is said that Bageshwar Dham 'Baba' Dhirendra Shastri can understand the problem without a person mentioning it to him. It is also claimed that he can write people's problem on a piece of paper without asking the affected person.

Since the controversy erupted, the Dhirendra Krishna Shastri or the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar has been trending on social media platforms and his videos have also gone viral. Many right wing organizations and BJP leaders have suppo5rted Bageshwar Sarkar who claimed that he is being targeted as he has challenged religious conversions and even carried out 'ghar wapsi' of people who had renounced their faith.
'Fill cracks in houses with your miracle'
But Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, in response to a question said such miraculous powers don't exist and he does not believe in them. Without naming anyone, he said that if those who show miracles fill the cracks in the Joshimath houses with miracles then he will welcome them.
He said, "We will spread flowers for them and say come and fill the cracks in our houses and maths."
'People of whole country want miracle'
Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, "The people of the whole country want a miracle, that a miracle should happen. Where are the miracles happening. If the miracles are for the welfare of the people, we will salute them. Otherwise this miracle is an illusion, nothing more than this."
He said that if someone has got some supernatural power and can suddenly do something by twisting a stick like a magician, then he should do this. We do not know such a miracle.
'Show some miracles useful for country and people'
Shankaracharya said, "If there is such a miraculous man, then he should stop the religious conversions. Stop the suicide of people. Quarrels are happening in people's homes, riots are happening, stop them with your miracles. The whole country should come and start loving each other. Stop the enmity between communities. If he shows some such useful miracle for the public and the nation, then we can call him a miracle man."
