Bhopal: The issue of renaming Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal as 'Bhojpal' has once again become hot. Now Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Maharaj has raised the demand.
After this the politics has heated up. This issue has been arising for about 46 years, but due to lack of coordination between the Municipal Corporation and the State Government, it could not be implemented.
Name change politics
The name change politics has been going on in MP for the last two years. Many cities and stations have been renamed in the meantime. Hoshangabad was renamed Narmadapuram, Babai was renamed Makhan Nagar. Habibganj railway station has been renamed as Rani Kamalapati. Rambhadracharya said Allahabad has been renamed as Prayagraj, why Bhopal cannot be renamed as Bhojpal.
'Will talk to PM'
Rambhadracharya Maharaj said on Thursday that I will also talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'Bhojpal'. He asked Culture Minister Usha Thakur to convince CM Shivraj. If the name of Hoshangabad can be changed to Narmadapuram, then only one letter 'J' has to be added to Bhopal. Its proposal should be passed in Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
Rambhadracharya is narrating 1361st Ramkatha in Bhopal. He has narrated Katha many times in MP also, but this time he is adamant on his demand. He says that next time he will come to Bhopal only when the name of Bhopal will be changed to Bhojpal.
Earlier during his Katha, he had said that I will ask my younger brother CM Shivraj Singh to change the name as soon as possible before the assembly elections.
