(In Pics) Madhya Pradesh: See How Ujjain Recorded In Guinness Book of World Record With Lightning Of 18 Lakh 82 Thousand 229 Diyas On Shivratri

Ujjain: The people of Ujjain have set a new world record by lighting 18 lakh 82 thousand 229 lamps simultaneously at Ram Ghat, Dutt Akhara, Narsingh Ghat, Gurunanak Ghat, Sunhari Ghat, Bhukimata Ghat on Shivratri.


Madhya pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan started the Shiv Jyoti Arpanam programme by lighting the lamps brought with him from Bhopal at Ramghat along with his wife Sadhna Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan said that the residents of Ujjain have presented a unique example of public participation. This world record has been made because of public participation. Lord Shri Mahakal's blessings are showering on the city of Ujjain. There is an atmosphere of celebration and joy all around.

Swapnil Dangarikar and Nischal Barot of the Guinness Book of World Records team handed over the certificate of establishment of the world record to CM Chouhan. Swapnil announced that today 18 lakh 82 thousand 229 lamps have been lit at various ghats in Ujjain. 

In the Shiv Jyoti Arpan programme, the work of lighting the lamp at Ramghat started from 7 pm. Simultaneously 18 lakh 82 thousand 229 lamps were lit. Diyas were counted by drone camera at 8 pm.
