Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray Hits Out At BJP Over Hindutva, Recalls 22 Years Old Story Of Balasaheb

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray on Sunday hit out at the BJP. Recalling the era of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Uddhav Thackeray spoke about Rajdharma. Thackeray said that Prime Minister Modi would not have come this far had Bal Thackeray not saved him.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had reminded Prime Minister Modi (when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat) of Rajdharma. According to Uddhav, Balasaheb Thackeray had supported Modi at that time and come to his rescue.

Separated from BJP but did not leave Hindutva

Uddhav Thackeray said that he has separated from BJP. But we have not left Hindutva yet. Uddhav Thackeray was addressing a gathering of North Indians in Mumbai.
Thackeray taunted the BJP and said that North Indians want to know what Hindutva is. Hating each other is not Hindutva. Thackeray directly accused the BJP of spreading hatred in the society.

Thackeray had defended Modi

Uddhav Thackeray, while reminding the old things, said that the present Prime Minister was helped by Balasaheb Thackeray at that time.

Referring to an incident about 20-22 years old, he said that “it was Balasaheb Thackeray who saved the current Prime Minister when Atalji (then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee) wanted him to follow ‘Rajdharma’.

But Balasaheb intervened saying that it was the need of the hour. Had it not defended Modi, he (Modi) would have not reached to this position. Thackeray said that the founder of Shiv Sena never harboured hatred.
