Manish Sisodia Reaches Supreme Court Against Arrest

New Delhi: Manish Sisodia has challenged his arrest in the Supreme Court. His petition will be placed before CJI DY Chandrachud for urgent listing. Sisodia has also raised questions on the manner of CBI investigation in the Delhi liquor scam case.

Sisodia’s legal team is likely to mention the matter at 10:30 am and the plea alleges that Sisodia had cooperated in the investigation and the arrest is illegal. The plea further says that remaining silent cannot be a ground to arrest.

Sisodia was sent on five-day CBI remand a day earlier on Monday. Sisodia, who was arrested after nearly eight hours of questioning on Sunday, was produced in court.

Nationwide protests continue

Meanwhile, the AAP workers are carrying out nationwide protests today against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's arrest in the Delhi liquor scam case. Party workers are staging protests in Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi and other cities amid tight security.

Earlier, on Monday a clash broke out between AAP workers and police near the party headquarters in the national capital. Security has been beefed up in Delhi in view of protests being staged by AAP workers.
