Rajasthan Budget 2023: Govt Tries To Woo Every Section, Cheap Cylinders To Poor, Free Electricity For Farmers

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the last budget of the current government on Friday. Through this budget in the election year, the government has tried to woo every section of the state. 

For this, along with announcements like free ration, cylinders for Rs 500 to the poor, recruitment to the youth, increasing concessions to the women in hostels and roadways travel, free electricity-water, free treatment, and government schemes for the children orphaned during the Corona period. 

Scope of OPS increased

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced to increase the scope of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in Rajasthan. Employees of Corporation, Board, Commission and University will also be given the benefit of OPS. 90 thousand employees of the state will benefit from this.

The Chief Minister announced setting up of Faculty Development Academy in Jaipur.

Contract workers

The CM paved the way for contract workers to become permanent. The old service of contract workers will also be included in the service tenure. Now the employees will not be recruited on contract.

Gas cylinder in 500 Rupees

 Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced to make 12 gas cylinders available in 500 rupees in the budget speech. From April 2023, the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will get its benefit. Compared to the village, its maximum benefit will be seen in the city. 

The maximum number of beneficiaries of this scheme are in the city. The Food Supply Department has completed its preparations regarding this.

If we talk about Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, under the Ujjwala Yojana, 2,65,354 people in the city and 2,35,635 people in the rural areas have connections. In such a situation, all of them will directly get its benefit. As of 2011 India census, Jaipur has a population of 6,626,178. In such a situation, the benefit of the Ujjwala Yojana is being received by only about five percent.

Eye on women voters

While the Bharatiya Janata Party had won the Lok Sabha elections with the Ujjwala scheme, the Congress is preparing to win the assembly elections in Rajasthan by giving additional benefits in this scheme. This will give a lot of relief to the BPL category people.

Connecting youths with farming

Farmers Welfare Fund was increased from 5 thousand crores to 7 thousand crores. Rajasthan Youth Farmer Skill Promotion Mission will be started to connect the youth with farming.

Free electricity for farmers

Free electricity will be given up to 2000 units per month to 11 lakh farmers. Till now there was a concession of 1000 rupees every month, which has now been increased to 2000 units. No bill will come if the consumption is up to 2000 units every month.

50% concession in fare in roadways for women

Women will now have to pay only half the fare in roadways, announcement has been made to increase the discount in roadways fare from 30% to 50%.

PHED water will be supplied to the highrise building. Means the water supply department will provide tap connection to the flats.

Concession for devotees

Devotees will get 50% concession in roadways buses going to the Lakhi fairs of Kaila Devi, Ramdevra, Ajmer Dargah, Pushkar, Khatushyam, Gogamedi, Beneshwar Dham, Pandupol Alwar, Buddha Johad Ganganagar, Bikaner Mukam Dham.

5% interest subsidy on housing loans to farmers for construction of houses on their farms.

Compensation for cows that died of lumpy

Announcement of compensation for the cows that died from Lumpi has been made in budget. Compensation of 40 thousand for each cow that died from Lumpy will be given.
