Rajasthan Politics: How Will Cong Unite For Campaigning Ahead Of Polls As Sachin Pilot Again Questions Delay In Action Against 3 MLAs

Jaipur: Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot has again raised questions on the delay in action against three leaders who were given notices for boycotting the Legislature Party meeting on 25 September last year. In such a situation the moot question is how will Congress unite for campaigning ahead of polls.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recently aggressively campaigned in Rajasthan, the ongoing tussle between CM Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot continues, which could harm party's prospects in forthcoming elections.

He questioned an inordinate delay by the leadership in taking action against those who defied then President Sonia Gandhi by not letting a legislature party meeting take place, and said the decision on the party's affairs in Rajasthan must be taken soon if the trend of alternate governments has to be changed.

Decision on party affairs must be taken soon to galvanise workers

Pilot said the decision on party affairs must be taken soon to galvanise workers ahead of the assembly polls which are due later this year.

Former Rajasthan Deputy CM Pilot has demanded an inquiry into the reason behind the resignations under pressure from the MLAs of the Gehlot faction.

Pilot said- In the affidavit filed by the Speaker in the High Court, it has been mentioned that the resignations of 81 MLAs were received and some had submitted their resignations personally.

The affidavit also stated that the resignations of some MLAs were photocopies and the rest were not accepted as they were not given by the MLAs of their own free will. This was one of the reasons on the basis of which the Speaker rejected the resignations.

Under whose pressure were resignations given

Pilot said- These resignations were not accepted because they were not given of their own free will. If they were not given out of their own free will then under whose pressure were they given? Was there any threat, inducement or pressure. This is a subject which needs to be probed by the party.

It may be pointed out that an affidavit was filed in the Rajasthan High Court by the speaker which said that there were 81 resignations received with few given to him personally, Pilot said.

According to the affidavit filed by the speaker in the high court, out of the total resignations some of them were photocopies and the rest were not accepted because they were not given "out of their free will", he said.
