Rajasthan: Preparations In Full Swing For Khatu Shyam's Lakhi Mela In Sikar; Lakhs Of Devotees To Arrive For Darshan Of Shyam Baba

Sikar: In the Sikar district of Rajasthan, a new smooth arrangement has been made for the devotees to visit the famous Baba Khatu Shyam Lakhi Mela starting from February 22, including security arrangements in the temple. Preparations are in full swing for the Mela.

VIP culture abolished

There will be darshan as per the guidelines of the district administration and VIP culture has been abolished. DJ will be completely banned in the fair. Volunteers will arrange drinking water for all the devotees in the lines of darshan.

Jaipur Range IG of Police Umesh Chandra Dutta inspected law and order, Lakhdatar Ground and other places and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials to improve the arrangements.

Superintendent of Police Karan Sharma told that the fair will start from February 22, whose preparations are being continuously inspected. 

Security arrangements

He told that this time the system will be handled by dividing the fair area into eight sectors. He told that this time about 4000 policemen will be deployed in the fair, besides about one thousand volunteers and more than one thousand private guards will handle the security arrangements. Security personnel will be deployed at all places including the parking lot to the way of movement of devotees.

He told that this time the entire fair will be monitored with drone cameras so that the arrangements can be made smoothly.

Lakhi Mela is very special

Lakhs of Shyam devotees of the country are expected to throng the Khatu Shyam temple this month. A fair is organized in the court of Shyam Baba on Ekadashi and Dwadashi every month, but the grand Lakhi Mela is very special.

It takes place every year before Holi from Phalgun Shukla Pratipada Tithi to Dwadashi Tithi. This time, from February 22 to March 2, lakhs of devotees will visit Lakhdatar's Lakhi fair. 

Darshan in the temple will be closed

Before this, for the preparations of the fair, the darshan in the temple will be closed for the devotees from 12 midnight on 20 February to 5 pm on 21 February (17 hours).

Khatu Naresh is worshiped by many names. Mythology connects Khatu Shyam ji with the Mahabharata period. The greatness of Lakhi Mela is also related to this.
