Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel Eyes Over One Crore Youths, Unemployment Allowance Can Prove To Be A Master Stroke

Raipur: Assembly elections are due in Chhattisgarh later this year. In 2018, the Congress had succeeded in ousting the BJP from power in this tribal-dominated state. CM Bhupesh Baghel is trying toretain power in the state.

After public welfare schemes, Bhupesh is now eyeing the young voters of the state. To woo them, the Congress government has not only announced unemployment allowance, but the scheme is also being implemented from April 1, 2023.

Vote katwa AAP a big challenge for Cong

In fact, this time in Chhattisgarh, Congress will have to fight not only with BJP but also with vote-katwa Aam Aadmi Party. The Aam Aadmi Party is pushing hard for the elections here. Political parties have started their preparations on the ground.

Baghel has played a masterstroke to woo the youths. The youths can prove to be a trump card for the Congress. Now the educated unemployed will be given unemployment allowance of Rs 2500 every month. This is being called the master stroke of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Unemployment allowance every month from April

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel told in a tweet that the Chhattisgarh government is starting unemployment allowance scheme from 1 April 2023. Under the scheme, the state government will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 2500 to the unemployed youth  in Chhattisgarh.

For this, a provision of Rs 250 crore has been announced in the budget. The CM said that for the ease of registration, it has been decided that on applications made on any day in the month of April, as announced, the allowance will be payable from April 1 itself.

Which youths will get benefit of the scheme

The benefits of Chhattisgarh government's Unemployment Allowance Scheme will be given to youths who are native of Chhattisgarh. Under the scheme unemployed youths in the age group of 18 to 35 years who are 12th pass whose annual family income is less than two and a half lakhs. They will be given an allowance. Apart from this, they should be enrolled in any District Employment and Self-Employment Guidance Centre of Chhattisgarh. They should have employment registration for at least two years as on 1st April of the year of application. Unemployed youth will also be given training for their skill development.

Youths and booths both increased

While the number of polling stations has increased in Chhattisgarh, the number of young voters has also increased. In the last four years, the number of voters has increased by about nine lakhs. Three lakh new young voters have been added to these who will vote for the first time.

The number of voters in the state is one crore 94 lakh, 54 thousand. Whereas in the last assembly elections in 2018, the number of young voters was only one crore 85 lakh 45 thousand 819, whereas this time 76 booths have been increased for the assembly elections. Now their number has increased to 23,907.

No vacancy has come in the state since September 2022. Talking about the number of youths in the state, the number of youth in the age group of 10 to 19 years is 54 lakh. So on the other hand, if we talk about the youth of 19 to 25 years, then their number is also around 45 lakhs. If these two are added, there is a population of one crore youths. CM Bhupesh Baghel can use such a large number of youth army to re-form his government.
