Ahmedabad: Mafia Atiq Ahmed, lodged in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail, is being brought to Prayagraj on remand for conspiracy in the Umesh Pal murder case. Atiq Ahmed is being brought from Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad to Prayagraj. Preparations are being made to bring gangster Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat to Prayagraj.
For this, the UP police reached Sabarmati Jail on Sunday. The police will bring Atik by road. This may take up to 36 hours. After bringing him to Prayagraj, he has to be interrogated regarding the Umesh Pal murder case.
A team of STF reached Sabarmati Jail
Gangster Atiq Ahmed is a named accused in the Umesh Pal murder case. The UP Police team has reached Sabarmati Central Jail. It is believed that UP STF can interrogate him regarding the murder. Steps can be taken under the legal process regarding this.
The police is preparing to bring Atiq to UP regarding the Umash Pal murder case. Although Atiq has filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding this on which the hearing is to be held.
Umesh Pal was shot dead in broad daylight
On last February 24, in the Dhoomanganj police station area of Prayagraj, Umesh Pal and two of his security personnel were shot dead by miscreants in broad daylight. All the miscreants had fled from the spot.
However, CCTV footage of this incident also came to the fore. After which the police took action and identified all the accused. Now in this case, preparations are on to bring gangster Atiq Ahmed from Gujarat jail to Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Police reached Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Jail on Sunday. It is being said that in the case of extortion and inciting riots, Atiq is to be produced in Prayagraj court. Atiq will be brought to Uttar Pradesh on transfer warrant.
Atiq was shifted to Sabarmati Jail in June 2019. The Supreme Court had on 22 April 2019 ordered that Atiq be shifted from Deoria Jail to a high security jail in Gujarat. Atiq is also accused of conspiring to kidnap and attack real estate businessman Mohit Jaiswal.
