Politics On Potatoes In UP, Akhilesh Yadav Says Potato Will Change Govt; BJP Hits Back

Lucknow: Politics has once again started in Uttar Pradesh regarding potatoes. Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav raised questions on Yogi Adityanath's government regarding the problems of potato farmers, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also set up purchase centers in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh looking at the problems of potato farmers. Horticulture and Food Processing Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, Dinesh Pratap Singh informed about the guidelines and schemes issued by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Purchase centres opened

Dinesh Pratap Singh said that on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, purchase centers have been opened in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, 54 percent of the total storage capacity of the state is full. While 46 percent of the storage plants are still empty for the farmers.

UP's potato reaches Dubai and Qatar

Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that for the first time under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, potatoes of Uttar Pradesh are being exported to Nepal, Malaysia, Qatar and Dubai.Potatoes from Farrukhabad were exported to Nepal while potatoes from Agra were exported to Qatar, Dubai and Malaysia, which were well received.
Uttar Pradesh government will continue to help potato farmers in every possible way. As far as the purchase of potato at Rs 650 per quintal is concerned, Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that the rate of potato has been fixed as per the instructions of CPRI. 

Govt will buy potatoes on the basis of its fixed price

Minister said that it is estimated that there may be a fall in the rate of potatoes in the coming times. But still the government will buy potatoes on the basis of its fixed price. With this, now farmers and traders can buy and sell potatoes in other districts. Yogi Adityanath's government is doing everything possible to solve all the problems of the farmers. Farmers do not need to panic, do not get misled by anyone. The government has sufficient resources. If needed, the central government will set up more purchases.

Akhilesh tweets about problems of potato farmers

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP government by tweeting and said, "Potato will change the government this time." He tweeted about the problems being faced by the potato farmers of the state. He said that in the BJP governments which give the slogan of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, votes are taken from Dalits and backward classes but representation is given only to upper castes. BJP does not give rights and leadership to Dalits or OBCs. 

Akhilesh said BJP makes lofty promises to Dalits and backward class people but shows its true colors as soon as it wins the elections. Dalits and backward people are kept away from the mainstream of power.
