Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot Fulfills Sachin Pilot's Demand, Veer Tejaji Welfare Board Formed, Will Congress Get 'Jat Vote'?

Jaipur: The Gehlot government has made a big bet before the assembly elections in Rajasthan. CM Ashok Gehlot has formed the State Veer Tejaji Welfare Board, fulfilling a demand of former deputy CM Sachin Pilot.

The Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Gehlot government has also issued orders related to the formation of the Veer Tejaji Welfare Board. It has 7 members apart from the chairman and vice-chairman.

Veer Teja Welfare Board will take stock of the condition of the farming community and give suggestions related to removing the backwardness of the farmers on the basis of the certified survey report. Recently, Sachin Pilot had written a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot in this regard.

Veer Tejaji is recognized as a folk deity. Jat community considers Veer Tejaji as their idol. Jat Mahakumbh will be held in Jaipur on March 5.

This is considered a big step of Gehlot government before Jat Mahakumbh. Jat society can play crucial role in 60 assembly seats of 7 districts. BJP has breached this vote bank of Congress.

Board formed to beat BJP

In fact, assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan at the end of the year. The strategy of political gain is believed to be the main reason behind the formation of the Veer Tejaji Welfare Board. Jats and many of its equivalent farmer castes have been the traditional voters of the Congress.

However, in the last 20 years, BJP has made a dent in this vote bank of Congress. In such a situation, CM Ashok Gehlot has done the work of giving political message to the farmer castes by forming Veer Tejaji Welfare Board in the election year.

Veer Tejaji is recognized as a folk deity in many states. Veer Tejaji is more recognized in the Jat class in Marwar and Shekhawati region in Rajasthan.

Congress leaders had been demanding formation of the board for a long time in Jat-dominated seats here. The people of the society were also demanding about this for a long time.

RLP, BJP also eye Jat votes

While RLP chief Hanuman Beniwal wants the support of the Jat community, BJP is also taking support of state president Satish Poonia to get Jat votes.

In such a situation, the Congress has formed the state board to woo voters of the community. In such a situation, politics has heated up. It is obvious that in the election year, the Congress government is eyeing the 15 to 20 percent Jat community of Rajasthan. This class directly influences the politics in 15 districts of the state.

This decision of the Gehlot government is also interesting because former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has also raised the demand for formation of the board by writing a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot on several occasions.

However, this is not the first time in the Gehlot government that a board has been constituted in the name of a society. Earlier, CM Ashok Gehlot had announced the formation of the State Vipra Welfare Board on February 11 to bring the Brahmin class in his favor.

Dotasara has also demanded the formation of the board

Several Jat leaders had written a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot for the formation of State Veer Teja Welfare Board in Rajasthan. In November 2022, Sachin Pilot and Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara had also written a letter to Chief Minister Gehlot demanding the formation of this board.
