Badrinath Dham: The doors of Badrinath Dham (Uttarakhand), one of the four Dhams, opened on Thursday, April 27 morning.
Adiguru Shankaracharya's Doli and Gadu Ghada Kalash have reached the temple of Lord Badri Vishal. After this the 'kapat' (doors) of Lord Badri Vishal opened for the summer season.
The temple of Lord Badri Vishal has been decorated with 15 quintals of marigold flowers. It is snowing outside Badrinath Dham since morning. Even after this, hundreds of devotees continued to gather outside the shrine.
During this, the army band kept playing tunes and people raised slogans of Jai Badri Vishal. Earlier, the throne of Adiguru Shankaracharya had left for Pandukeshwar from Narasimha temple.
All the areas around the temple premises have been decked up with colorful flowers. Devotees from every corner of the country have also reached Badrinath Dham.
What is Gadu Ghada
Sesame oil is used for Mahabhishek of Lord Shiva in Badrinath Dham. It is believed that this oil is prepared by married women in Tehri Rajdarbar wearing special dresses. After this, the oil is filled in the Kalash brought by Dimri Acharyas of Dimmer village, which is called Gadu Ghada.
The yatra reaches Shri Badrinath and is called Gadu Ghada Kalash Yatra. When this Kalash Yatra reaches Joshimath, Adi Guru Shankaracharya's Doli also joins with this Kalash Yatra, after which it reaches Yoga Dhyan Badri Pandukeshwar.
