Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023: Kamal Nath's Focus On Social Engineering, Exercise To Win Over Different Sections Of Society Before Polls

Bhopal: The Congress, which is aiming to win the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, is now focusing on social engineering. Kamal Nath is trying to win support of different sections of the society and convincing them to vote in favor of the party. The party is trying to balance caste equations.

Madhya Pradesh Congress President and former CM Kamal Nath wants the party to win more seats this time than in the last 2018 election. So that even if there is a situation like the rebellion in the pary, the government will not be affected.

Nath has called meeting to prepare strategy

This is the reason why Kamal Nath is now completely focusing on caste equation. He has called a meeting to prepare the strategy for the assembly elections. Yadav community leaders and party workers associated with the Congress will participate in the meeting. After brainstorming with these leaders, an election strategy will be prepared after obtaining the feedback of the districts.

In this meeting, political and social equations will be discussed along with the caste equation of each assembly seat of Malwa-Nimar, Gwalior-Chambal, Mahakaushal, Vindhya and Bundelkhand of the state.

Nath had engaged in a similar exercise before 2018 polls

Even before the 2018 assembly elections, Kamal Nath was engaged in a similar exercise. Within three months, he had called prominent leaders of about two dozen communities to his office and discussed with them about the elections. People of Yadav Samaj, Vaishya, Sarv Swarnakar, Gurjar, Lodhi, Dawoodi Bohra, Patidar, Sindhi, Meena, Kori-Koli, Dhanuk, Balai Samaj and Banjara were included.

Not only this, in some seats of districts like Bhopal and Jabalpur, Sindhi community has a good number of voters. This led to a meeting with this class. While the Yadav community has significant dominance in Nimar and Bundelkhand, the Soni community has dominance in Vidisha's Shamshabad and Jabalpur along with Panna's Pawai, Satna's Maihar and Amarpatan.

Kori Koli community has dominance over Ujjain region's Ghattia, Narsinghpur Gotegaon, Shivpuri Karera and Bhander seat of Datia, along with Sagar Narayawali, Sehore Ashta, Damoh Hata, Bhopal Barasia besides Ashok Nagar and Vidisha's Kurwai assembly seat. . The total number of voters of this category is more than 50 lakhs.

Kamal Nath eyes ST voters as well

Before the assembly elections, both the parties are engaged in helping the Scheduled Tribes. Both the parties keep an eye on the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, because the party which has a strong hold on the assembly seats reserved for these classes is in a position of advantage.

Party sources say that in the report of the Congress in-charges, 32 seats of Bundelkhand region, including Tikamgarh, Sagar and Niwari districts, the position of the Congress is not strong. At the same time, out of 66 seats in Malwa and Nimar, the Congress is more or less in the same situation on about one and a half dozen seats.

Organizational activities of Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore and Rajgarh districts will be discussed in the meeting. On the other hand, in the report of the in-charges, the position of Congress is good on 28 out of 37 assembly seats of Gwalior-Chambal. So Congress is in a strong position in 19 out of 28 seats in Vindhya region.
