Poonch Terror Attack: Terrorists Attack Army Vehicle With Grenade In J&K, 5 Soldiers Martyred, PAFF Carried Out Attack


Srinagar: An army vehicle caught fire on 20 April in Jammu and Kashmir. 5 soldiers were martyred in this incident. Also, a jawan was seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment at an army hospital. It has been told that this incident is a terrorist attack. The People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) claimed responsibility for the attack.


Terrorists took advantage of rain and low visibility


After this incident, other senior officers including ADGP Jammu reached Poonch. According to the army, an army vehicle was attacked by unidentified terrorists at 3 pm on Thursday in Rajouri sector of Poonch. During this, the terrorists also used hand grenades. Due to which the vehicle caught fire. The terrorist attack took advantage of heavy rain and low visibility.


Soldiers were deployed in anti-terrorist operation


According to the army, five soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for anti-terrorist operations in the area were martyred in the incident. Search operation has been started to trace the terrorists. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over this attack.


What is PAFF?


People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) is a Pakistan-based terrorist organization supported by Jaish-e-Mohammed. The name of PAFF started coming to the fore only after Article 370 was removed from Kashmir. It is inspired by Zakir Musa, the slain commander of terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. He is also believed to be a loyalist of the global terrorist organization Al Qaeda.
