Punjab: Fugitive Amritpal Dodges Hoshiarpur Police; Massive Hunt Yields No Result

HOSHIARPUR: There is a police alert in Punjab to catch Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. Here in Hoshiarpur, the search operation of the police is going on for the fourth day. The Punjab Police had received information that Amritpal could be in a sugar mill in Dasuha. On the basis of this information many vehicles of Punjab Police reached outside Dasuha's sugar mill.

TEAM OF OVER 300 POLICEMEN RAIDED

Not only SSP Hoshiarpur, vehicles led by other police officers reached inside the mill to catch Amritpal. Searches were conducted, more than 300 policemen had arrived in these vehicles. After the search operation of Dasuha Sugar Mill of Hoshiarpur, around 10 police vehicles came out from the back door of the sugar mill at midnight. During the search operation, roads connecting the district were blocked and the commuters were searched.

FURTHER STRATEGY WAS PREPARED

The police officers held a meeting at the sugar mill itself. During this, further strategy was prepared to catch Amritpal. The Punjab Police conducted a search operation not only in village Pandori Bibi, Harkhowal, Dhakkowal, Attowal, Sahri, Kahri, Mona Kalan, Mona Khurd, Fuglana, Bhungarni, but also in many other villages, from vacant houses, kothis, poultry to farms and camps. .

AMRITPAL HAS DODGED EARLIER

On March 28 also, the police team had received information about Amritpal was going from Phagwara towards Hoshiarpur in an Innova vehicle. But the police could not catch him. The police continued to claim that Amritpal would be caught soon. Even after this exercise, Amritpal is still away from the grip of the police.

A massive state-wide search operation has been launched against Amritpal. Many other Khalistan supporters have also been detained. Till now many people have been arrested. Not only this, security agencies are on high alert on the Indo-Nepal border. Posters of Amritpal Singh have been put up at Sonauli border in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh. Intensive checking of vehicles including those going to Nepal from India is being done continuously. 

There is a discussion that Amritpal had come to Shahabad recently and fled from there along with his colleague Palpreet. Ever since Amritpal has absconded, he has not only changed his appearance but is also changing his vehicleS. Security agencies are fully alert about this. Jawans are keeping vigil at all points.
