US: Former President Donald Trump Pleads Not Guilty; Says I Never Thought Anything Like This Could Happen In America After Release

WASHINGTON: Former United States President Donald Trump faced arraignment at a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday.

34 charges were fixed against Donald Trump in Manhattan court. He was tried in court for paying money to silence porn star Stormy Daniels and falsifying business records for it. Trump said in court that he had not committed any crime. Nor has there been any discrepancy in his business records. The Manhattan Court did not rule on Trump's bail or arrest.

Prosecutors accused Donald Trump of orchestrating payments to two women before the 2016 US election to suppress publication of their sexual encounters with him. With this, Donald Trump became the first sitting or former US President to face criminal charges.

Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York court.

Earlier Trump, the first former US President to face a criminal charge, surrendered before Judge Juan Merchan.

Donald Trump was arrested on charges stemming from an investigation into a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Trump has been arraigned in court for having an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels and then paying her to silence her.

Hours before his arraignment, former US President Donald Trump sent an email to his supporters, which he claimed was the last one before his arrest, saying that the United States is becoming a "Marxist Third World" country and went on social media questioning the fairness of judiciary.

"Our nation is becoming a Marxist Third World country that CRIMINALIZES dissent and IMPRISONS its political opposition. But do NOT lose hope in America! We are a nation that declared its independence from the world's biggest empire, won two world wars, and landed the first man on the moon. Resilience is in our blood," he said.

Trump raised USD 4 million in less than 24 hours

In less than 24 hours after being indicted he raised over more than USD 4 million.

Arriving at his Florida home after release, Donald Trump addressed his supporters, saying, “I never thought anything like this could happen in America. The only crime I have committed to fearlessly defend our nation.”

Trump claims he is the victim of "political persecution" -- but is also using the court case to energize his support base and raise millions of dollars for his bid to reclaim the White House next year.

“Our country is going to hell”, Donald Trump said as the crowd of supporters clapped for him in support. Trump said that his campaign was a victim of election interference, lashing out at New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg for bringing criminal charges against him.
