2100 Youths Of Madhya Pradesh Will Get Training As LiFE Volunteers; Applications Will Be Accepted Till May 25



BHOPAL: In order to make youths aware about the environment and to ensure their active participation in the environment sector, 2100 youths will be trained as LiFE (Life Style for Enviroment) volunteers in Madhya Pradesh. LiFE volunteers will be selected from each district of the state. 


The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh and the maximum age as on June 1, 2023 should be 29 years and the minimum educational qualification should be graduation. The last date to apply is 25 May 2023. After the training, certificates will be given to the volunteers.

Executive Director of Environmental Planning and Coordination organization (EPCO) Mujibur Rahman told that the applicants can contact on www.epco.mp.gov.in, www.swa.mp.gov.in, www.ecoclub.mp.gov.in, www.climatechange.mp.gov.in website for registration and rules booklet. 


The list of applications received from each district will be sent to the concerned collector. Collectors will also be able to nominate youths who have done remarkable work in the environmental sector of their district. A maximum of 35 volunteers will be selected from each district of the state.


Free training


One day training programme will be completely free of cost. Fixed amount of travel and daily allowance will be sent to the participants online in their accounts. Food and lodging arrangements will be made by EPCO during the training. The place, time and date of the training programme will be informed to the district administration and the selected participants by e-mail or on their WhatsApp numbers. 


The training will be imparted by trainers having long experience in the field of environment. LiFE Volunteers will not be given any kind of salary or honorarium. This is a unique opportunity for the youths who voluntarily want to contribute in bringing public awareness towards the environment in the society.


Selection of 7 subjects


As per the guidelines issued by NITI Aayog regarding Mission LiFE, 7 subjects have been selected. These include saving energy and use of renewable energy, saving and conserving water, discouraging the use of single-use plastic, reducing household waste, adopting a healthy lifestyle, promoting sustainable and lasting food practices, and proper execution of e-waste. 


Volunteers will work for society as agents of change


The purpose of the training is to select district, divisional and state level LiFE volunteers and motivate them to work for the society as agents of change. Training will lead to personality development of youth and development of leadership capacity to work on environmental protection and climate change. Individuals and organisations will also get recognition in the direction of environmental protection in the state.
