Beauty Tips: How to Beat The Heat And Get Radiant Glowing Skin In Summer

Summer weather can be particularly harsh on the skin due to the strong UV rays, high temperatures, and increased humidity levels. Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause skin damage, premature aging, and even skin cancer. But you can get healthy glowing skin by following some precautions and beauty tips.

It is essential to take extra care of your skin during this season by applying sunscreen with at least SPF 30, wearing protective clothing and consuming foods like almonds that have SPF properties, also staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water. It is also recommended to use gentle exfoliating and hydrating skincare products to help soothe and nourish your skin.

According to Dr. Geetika Mittal Gupta, Skin Expert, and Cosmetologist, by taking these precautions, you can enjoy the summer season without compromising the health of your skin. Here are 3 essential skincare tips that can help in maintaining healthy and glowing skin in summer:

Wear sunscreen daily

The most important thing you can do for your skin during the summer is to protect it from the sun. The UV rays reach the deeper layers of the skin, causing sunspots, pigmentation, and premature aging. Therefore, it is essential to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Daily use of SPF can protect your skin's health and appearance by preventing sunburns. And one easy way to block the sun’s harmful rays is to apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30, and reapplying in every 2-3 hours.

Dermatologists recommend using a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, which blocks 97 percent of the sun's UVB rays. Higher-number SPFs block slightly more of the sun's UVB rays, but no sunscreen can block 100 percent of the sun's UVB rays.

Consuming foods like almonds may be one way to help your skin from within and support the other things you already do, like wearing sunscreen, to protect your skin from UVB rays. Daily almond intake could also increase the skin’s resistance to UVB light. Consumption of a handful of almonds in your daily dietary routine along with fruits and vegetables can help boost your skin’s resistance to UV rays naturally.

Cleanse and exfoliate to get rid of impurities

On an everyday basis, especially in summer, our skin encounters dirt, oil, bacteria, and pollution, so washing your face twice daily and exfoliating two to three times per week with natural scrubs keeps your skin clear of impurities and pimples.

Use a gentle exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells and help your skin look bright and fresh. You can use almonds as an exfoliator as they help in removing dead cells from your skin, regenerating skin cells. Almonds can help in removing dirt from deep within the pores without leaving the skin dry.

Give your skin a vitamin E kick

Vitamin E is known to have a range of benefits for skin conditions, through all seasons. A dose of vitamin E makes the nerves stronger and helps in nourishing the skin from within. What’s good is that you don’t need to supplement your diet with additional vitamin E.

Foods like almonds contain healthy fats and vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) which have been shown to impart anti-aging properties that may benefit skin health. Make the consumption of almonds a daily habit as part of your beauty regime! Whether at home, work, or while traveling, almonds can be eaten anytime.

Remember, the key to healthy, glowing skin during the summer is to protect it from the sun and keep it nourished from within. By following these essential skincare tips, you can beat the heat and enjoy healthy, beautiful skin all summer long.
