The fans of Chennai Super Kings got two good news last night. First of all, his favorite team won its fifth IPL title by defeating Gujarat by 5 wickets, on the other hand Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced to play another season of IPL. Dhoni said in the match presentation that there cannot be a better retirement time than this, but he wants to return the love of his fans by playing one more season.
There were speculations of retirement
Since the year 2019, Dhoni was being asked about his retirement from IPL. This season was also believed to be the last season of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Many times even Dhoni has indicated that this could be his last season. However, putting an end to all the speculations and rumours, Dhoni has announced to play one more season for the fans.
Surprise for Dhoni's fans
After Chennai's victory, Dhoni was asked about retirement in the post match presentation. Responding, MS said that “there cannot be a better time than this to take retirement. I have received a lot of love in every stadium this year and I want to return this love from the fans. The next nine months are going to be difficult for me, I will have to work hard to get back on the field, but this will be a gift from my side to the fans.
Suresh Raina had already predicted
Many experts were giving opinion on Dhoni's retirement and saying that this could be Dhoni's last season, however former CSK star Suresh Raina revealed that MS Dhoni had told him that he would win IPL this season and will play for one more year. Now this prediction of Raina has come true.
